Short answer: When we searched walgreens.com on October 12, 2026, it listed no persimmon soap, and web searches of cvs.com and target.com, whose own searches we could not use, found none either. Walmart’s in-store filter turned up none at the store our browser was set to. Walmart.com and Amazon US both listed hundreds of persimmon soaps, and every listing we opened was sold by an outside business and shipped to the buyer. In practice, “near me” means online: a marketplace listing, or buying direct from a brand.

How we checked

We typed “persimmon soap” into each retailer’s own website search on October 7, then repeated the exercise on October 12, 2026. There were no store visits. If a site put up a security or bot check, we left it there and used a web search restricted to that site’s address instead. The results, store by store

This time the Walgreens site search worked. “Persimmon soap” brought back 83 items across two pages, and none was a persimmon soap: they were hand soaps, body washes, body butters, shampoos, and even dish soap and laundry detergent, matched on the word “soap.” That matches what a site-limited web search showed on both dates. Ranges change, so a quick search of the Walgreens app or website before a special trip is still worth it.

CVS

We could not search CVS directly on either date. On October 12, 2026, cvs.com displayed a message that it is not available to customers located outside the United States or its territories, which is where our check ran from, and we left it at that. A web search limited to cvs.com showed bar soap, body wash and hand soap category pages, but no persimmon soap product page. If you are in the US, the CVS website or app will give you a firmer answer than we could.

Target

On October 7, 2026, Target’s own search reported 383 results for “persimmon soap,” but the 41 products on screen were mostly ordinary bars and hand soap, with no persimmon soap among them. On October 12, the site asked us to “press and hold” to prove we were human. We did not complete that check, and a web search limited to target.com found no persimmon soap.

Walmart: online yes, on the shelf unlikely

Walmart is where a “near me” search gets confusing. On October 12, 2026, walmart.com loaded normally and showed 382 results for “persimmon soap,” including bars and body washes from many brands. Two persimmon soap listings we opened both named an outside business on the “Sold and shipped by” line. When we switched on the In-store filter for the Sacramento Supercenter our browser defaulted to, the count fell to 1, and the one item shown was a body wash with persimmon in its scent name, not a persimmon soap bar.

Tip: set your own zip code and store at the top of walmart.com, then turn on the In-store filter. If nothing is left, the listings will come by mail rather than from a shelf.

Amazon US: read “Ships from” and “Sold by”

On October 12, 2026, Amazon US returned 514 results for “persimmon soap.” The three listings we opened all said “Ships from Amazon,” and each named a different business under “Sold by.” The first line tells you who sends the parcel; the second tells you who you are buying from. A Mirai Clinical bar listing, for example, showed “Sold by Mirai Clinical” that day.
